We left Beaumont and made our way to Fredericksburg. We had a different situation in that they sort of let us use their church. They had a few members come, but most of them were involved in other church activities on Saturday night. We also marketed to a few of the RV Parks and had a few come from them. But mostly, we had a crowd that included the host home families and our friends and families from San Angelo.
It's always good to perform near San Angelo on the next to last night so that the families of the second cast can come watch them perform in thier lead roles. We had an excellent group, including some more alumni. I know I saw Stacy Lee, Carley Allen and Lacy Warrington. I also saw longtime Spirit groupie, Joy Allen.
In Fredericksburg, we were more or less hosted by the Ottmers Family. They provided us with a BBQ dinner which was second to none that we had on the Tour. They also served it up and cleaned it up. They were very instrumental in helping us obtain the host homes and getting us delivered to them. They deserve a big thanks!
The performance went well and then we scattered to the various host homes. I took 5 guys to a ranch house. Others went to some very nice places, also. From what I hear, everyone had a good time with their host families.
On Sunday morning, we gathered at Bethany Lutheran Church and performed 4 songs for them. Then we had our Awards Banquet! Yep, we have an Awards Banquent. Some of them are serious, but most of them are meant to be humorous and based on the events of the Tour. If you get a chance, ask Chloe about getting the "All Aboard Award."
All in all, Fredericksburg was a great place. I feel sure we'll wind up there again in the future.
