On the Trail

Today started at 6:30 on the bus. That's not good. We left Charleston and headed to Savannah. This is another great place. We went on a Tour of the historic district. They have some beautiful parks and a neat river district. There are old churches everywhere. We even saw Christ Church where John Wesley presided when he was in America. But the highlight of the trip, and the thing that draws the most visitors to Savannah, is the Lady and Sons restaurant. This is Paula Dean's place. People line up down the street just to eat there.

We took a tour of the St. John the Baptist Cathedral and the First African Baptist Church. Each was awesome in it's own way. The Cathedral was extremly ornate and a site to behold. The Baptist church was extremly historic. It once had a tunnel that led to the river to assist slaves in escaping. We got a great history lesson from our tour guide. Brett took the opportunity to sleep in the 100+ year old pews that were built by slaves.

We had lunch on the bus and headed over to the dolphin cruise. Guess what, we saw dolphins. We also saw a really neat lighthouse and some really big ships. Brian May says the lighthouse holds some special charm which makes people all googly...sort of like looking at a windmill!

We then headed to the Church in which we were to perform. Their congreation was very hospitable. The second cast performed and did very well. They brought a lot of energy as I believe they were anxious to perform. Afterwards, the church had an ice cream buffet for us. That was a perfect desert to the end of the day.

Now we're going to bed!
