On the Trail

Hey. What a day! In short, we rode on a bus, saw 1,700 graves, ate some vegetables, visited a Mall and had to move hotels! What more could you want.

The morning started a little early. Your kids weren't quite as hyper as they were the day we left. We worked our way into Louisianna and then Mississippi. We voted against eating at McDonalds for the third time in a row!

Due to a shortage of funds, we were not able to visit a theme park this year. Therefore, we had to settle for a ride on the "Rocking Chair Rollercoaster" at the Cracker Barrel. A good time was had by all.

Then we visited the Vicksburg Military Park. That was neat. Luke was in is element and Dr. May was a wealth of knowledge. The monument in honor of the Texans at that battle is very impressive. We toured the iron clad ship that was recovered from the bottom of the Mississippi river. All in all, it was both educational and fun.

We then headed to Meridian, Mississippi to check into our hotel. They seemed to have forgot that we were coming. We had the email confirmation but they still were not expecting us. So, we took the kids to the Mall and relocated to the local Holiday Inn. It was much nicer and we got it at the same price. So, except for the headache of moving, it worked out in our favor.

Now we're going to bed as tomorrow is a huge day for us.

Here's a few pictures for your pleasure.

See you tomorrow.

Can't wait to hear what this was about. Bright and shiny objects always have been distracting for you Matt.
